Question of the Day - July 6, 2005

1) QOTD: Who should replace Sandra Day O'Connor?

2) Extra Credit: Please discuss the ideological schism leading to the fratricidal bloodbath between the factions of the National House of Pancakes and the International House of Pancakes.

1) The best replacement for O'Connor would be Militant Jim Nabors. Bedecked in ruffled shirt and powdered wig, Nabors would shake the the judicial establishment as bellows in his effiminate, drawling falsetto, "EAT MY JUSTICE!!!" to all defilers of the Constituion.
Then Justice Nabors would break into a soothingly sweet rendition of 'Oh Susannah', 'Jimmy Crack Corn', or even 'We Built This City on Rock & Roll'.

1). With his "There can be only one" attitude and sword handling skills there is little doubt that O'Connor's replacement should be Connor Mcleod of the Clan Mcleod a.k.a. the Highlander. Without impunity he will whole heartedly decapitate any and all injustice. As well, being immortal he will never need a replacement.

Extra Credit - There is no discussion. Denny’s Grand Slam rules all!!

1) Sean Connery, for the following reasons. Not only because his name sounds an awful lot like Sandra Day O'Conner, but also the fact that he is alive, unlike Flannery O'Conner. And he actually exists, unlike Chandra May O'Flounder, Shamus Mandrake O'Flinders, Shimmer Me O'Timbers, Allejandre Maypole O'Shaleighleigh, Dasher Kay O'Donner, and Jackie Pounder Juno O'Bobbiesox, IV. For all these reasons and many, many more, Sean Connery would make an excellent replacement for Sandra Dave O'Condor.

EC--It all started with the Council of Boysenberries of 986 A.D., during which time the United Brotherhood of the Ancient Crepe failed to transmortify all manifestations of the International Passport, the Omlette Feast, or the Rootie Tootie Fresh 'n Fruity. From there it was right out.
